The Tbilisi International Airport is the leading international airport in Georgia and is located 17 km far from the capital Tbilisi. The TIA is also known as the ‘Novo Alexeyevka International Airport’. The history of the airport is dated back to 1952, when the first terminal building was constructed under the direction of V. Beridze and the new terminal building was finished in 1990. The TIA is operated by TAV since October 2005. In Georgia the company also operates Batumi Airport for 20-year term since May 2007.
