Kiel Airport 

The airfield Kiel (also referred to as Kiel-Holtenau) is a landing field in Kiel. It is located seven kilometers north of Kiel city center. The airfield was used militarily since its creation and was since 1958 a base of naval aviation. By mid-2012, the Naval Aviation Squadron 5 (MFG 5) was stationed here. It is known for the search and rescue operations (SAR), which were carried out from Holtenau with Sea King helicopters.
