Terminal 1 of Sofia Airport serves low-cost and charter carriers. Terminal 2 was one of the biggest projects in Bulgaria to receive funds from the EU ISPA program. The terminal includes air-bridges (gates A1, B5–9 and C1), 38 check-in desks and covers an area of 50,000 m2 and has a car park for 820 vehicles. It is situated to the east of Terminal 1 and is much bigger than the old one which continues to serve low-cost and charter airlines. Terminal 2 currently serves only one low-cost airline Ryanair.
