Grenoble-Isère Airport (GNB) also known as Alpes–Isère Airport or Grenoble–Saint-Geoirs Airport- is one of minor international airports, territorially situated in the region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, department Isère. Airport is at a distance of 40 km away from the city Grenoble- the capital of the Isere department and managed by Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Spot of History
In 1930 the airfield had a military use and during the World War II served as a storage of vehicles, aircrafts and other materials. Today Airport hosts mainly seasonal winter flights, in 2009 there have been more than 456,062 passengers.
