Aeroporto Internazionale di Roma–Ciampino (CIA) - is one of minor international airports, which is in both civil and military use. Airport is at a distance of 15 km away from the Rome city center. The airport handles commercial national and international flights as well as private, non-regular air traffic, mostly low-cost flights. The Airport is named after an Italian pilot, who served in WWI- Giovanni Battista Pastine.

Ciampino Airport was built in 1916 being one of the oldest airports that operates until now. It has been used as a military airfield during the World War II. However it proved to be the main Rome’s airport until 1960 and handles up-to 2 million travelers in a year (in 2011 there have been around 370 thousand passengers). The bigger Rome airport- Leonardo Da Vinci (Fiumicino) International Airport opened in 1961, it was built to support the Ciampino Airport during the Olympic Games and thereafter it replaced the mentioned existed airport and became the main Rome Airport, which can handle around 45 million passengers/ per year.

There are terminal entrances to reach 31 check-in counters in the main Hall and arrivals facilities as well as 16 departure areas for boarding (reachable either by walk or by bus).
