Aalborg Airport is used both for the civilian and military flights. It was opened in 1938 as the second national airport. During the Second World War the airport was used by Germans for the military purposes. During 2007 to 2013 the airport enlarged its size and increased the number of gates. In 2019 it is planned to open a railway station hub leading to the airport.
