The João Paulo II Airport is named after Pope John Paul II. It is an international airport located on the island of São Miguel. Situated 2 km west of the city center of Ponta Delgada. The João Paulo II Airport also accommodates international flights to and from Europe and North America. It is the major hub for the SATA Group of airlines, which includes both inter-island SATA Air Açores and international and since April 2015 as a base for Ryanair.

The Madeira Airport is located 2 km south of Batumi, Georgia.
