Berlin-Tempelhof Airport was one of the first commercial airports in Germany along with the Berlin airports Johannisthal and Staaken and in 1923 started regular service. It was until its closure on 30 October 2008, Berlin-Tegel and Berlin-Schönefeld one of three international airports in the Greater Berlin and was called the central airport. In 2007, around 350,000 passengers were handled there. Since 2010, the former airport site is designated by the state of Berlin and its companies with the project name Tempelhofer Freiheit and is open to the public. Magdeburg–Cochstedt Airport
Magdeburg-Cochstedt Airport is a commercial airport in Saxony-Anhalt. It is located about 35 kilometers south-southwest of Magdeburg in Salzlandkreis in the district of Hecklingen south of today's district Cochstedt. The nearest major towns are Aschersleben and Staßfurt. With the suspension of the operating license, the airport has been temporarily closed since 1 September 2016. In the basement of the terminal are the airport information, a travel center and a counter of a logistics service provider. Upstairs there is a bistro and the visitor's terrace as well as two conference rooms. There are six counters ready for check-in.
