Berlin-Tempelhof Airport was one of the first commercial airports in Germany along with the Berlin airports Johannisthal and Staaken and in 1923 started regular service. It was until its closure on 30 October 2008, Berlin-Tegel and Berlin-Schönefeld one of three international airports in the Greater Berlin and was called the central airport.
