Berlin-Tempelhof Airport was one of the first commercial airports in Germany along with the Berlin airports Johannisthal and Staaken and in 1923 started regular service. It was until its closure on 30 October 2008, Berlin-Tegel and Berlin-Schönefeld one of three international airports in the Greater Berlin and was called the central airport. Bremen Airport is the international airport of the city of Bremen. Based on the number of passengers, the airport is ranked twelfth in Germany in 2015, in terms of freight in fifteenth place. It is located 3.5 kilometers south of the city center in the district of Neuenland Bremer Neustadt.
